NWMSU professor receives grant for immigration research

MARYVILLE, Mo. - A Northwest Missouri State University professor has been named as recipient of a $30,000 grant from the Russell Sage Foundation.

Dr. Emily Frazier, of Northwest's geography department, is researching the integration of immigrants after Trump-era policies limiting admission to the U.S.

Her study is currently focused on Des Moines, Iowa, and Lincoln, Nebraska. In a university release, Frazier said, "I want them to see that immigration isn't something happening far away."
